Very expected game when 9th ranked Calais (5-12) lost on the road to fifth ranked Mondeville (9-6) 71-65. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Mondeville forced 21 Calais turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international center Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova (193-93, college: Dayton) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Vaciana Gomis (172-2) helped adding 14 points. At the losing side DR Congolese center Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Shelby Saint Juste (185-98) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mondeville. They maintain fifth place with 9-6 record. Calais lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Mondeville will play against league's leader Toulouse at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Calais will play against Montbrison (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
