Regular Season Round 15: Limoges - ASVEL 60-83

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Limoges CSP Elite (5-7) was crushed at home by sixth ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (7-4) 83-60 on Saturday. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Amine Noua (202-97, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Nicolas Lang (198-90, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 23 points and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and international power forward Jerry Boutsiele (207-94) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket maintains sixth place with 7-4 record. Limoges CSP Elite lost their third game in a row. Defending champion dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Le Portel. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket will meet Le Mans (#7) on the road in the next round. Limoges CSP Elite will play against Levallois (#3) and hope to secure a win.
