Regular Season Round 21: MuKi - Kristika Turku 77-87

There was no surprise in Helsinki where 8th ranked MuKi (7-13) was defeated by third ranked Kristika Turku (15-5) 87-77 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 33-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kristika Turku made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while MuKi only scored six points from the stripe. Kristika Turku looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Power forward Mikael Aalto (205-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and swingman Timi Puittinen (193-94) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Emil Uotila (198-0) with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Joonas Timonen (189-0) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kristika Turku moved-up to second place in 1st Division. Loser MuKi dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Kristika Turku will face Raiders Basket (#9) in Jarvenpaa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MuKi will play at home against Tapiolan Honka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
