Regular Season Round 21: Kipina - PuHu Juniorit 77-83

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked PuHu Juniorit's (15-8) road victory over 4th placed Kipina (13-9) 83-77 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 30-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. PuHu Juniorit looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Thomas Ronnholm (191-3) stepped up and scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and power forward Mahmoud Mohamed (194-97) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). PuHu Juniorit's coach Mikko Larkas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Junior Robinson (165-96, college: Mt.St.Mary's) with 26 points and 8 assists and forward Sami Mantymaa (193-88) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. PuHu Juniorit maintains third place in 1st Division with 15-8 record having just three points less than leader Huima. Newly promoted Kipina keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. PuHu Juniorit will face league's second-placed FoKoPo in Forssa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kipina will play on the road against Team Pajulahti in Lahti and hope to win that game.
