Regular Season Round 18: Rishon Le-Zion - Ashdod 91-88

The most exciting game of round 16 in the D1 took place in Rishon Le-Zion. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Ashdod (11-5) to ninth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (5-11) 91-88 on Monday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ashdod. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International guard Gili Eisner (176-1) fired 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Blair Watson (183-98, college: Maryland, agency: Shark Sports Management) chipped in 21 points and 9 assists. American center Khadijiah Cave (190-95, college: Baylor) produced 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and her fellow American import center Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) added 19 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 5-11 record. Ashdod at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Raanana (#10) in the next round. Ashdod will play against Ramat Hasharon (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
