A very interesting game took place in Ponferrada. It ended with only three-point home defeat of higher ranked Ponferrada (12-9) to eighth ranked Zentro Basket (9-12) 82-79 on Tuesday evening. Zentro Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ponferrada's 36. Worth to mention a great performance of Portuguese power forward Goncalo Delgado (203-98, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 16 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). Pedro Garcia (202-98, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Zentro Basket's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Pablo Hernandez (201-97, college: MBU, agency: Promo Sport ID) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Daniel Manchon (193-98, agency: Promo Sport ID) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Ponferrada. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Zentro Basket maintains eighth position in Silver with 9-12 record. Ponferrada at the other side dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Zentro Basket's next round opponent will be higher ranked Zornotza (#3) in Amorebieta-Echano and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ponferrada will play at home against CAM E.Soler and hope to win that game.
