Regular Season Round 2: BAM Basket - Ceadir-Basket 103-79

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Ceadir-Basket in Chisinau on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by BAM Basket 103-79. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 103-79. BAM Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Ceadir-Basket's 46. BAM Basket forced 22 Ceadir-Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 56-35 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Ty-Ler Banks (190-97, college: CCNY) had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (on 19-of-24 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian center Samuel Matice (211-97, college: UBC Okanagan) chipped in 12 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four BAM Basket players scored in double figures. Bahamas point guard Detarrio Thompson (183-0) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international swingman Vadim Raducan (192-0) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Ceadir-Basket's coach Anatoli Dimcioglo gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. BAM Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ceadir-Basket will play on the road against Speranca in Chisnau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
