Regular Season Round 37: Handlova - Inter Bratislava 79-63
Date: March 16, 2021
Bottom-ranked Handlova managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against fifth-ranked Inter Bratislava 79-63. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference proves that Handlova was well-prepared to that game. They also forced 23 Inter Bratislava turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Aleksandar Zecevic (207-96, college: FAU) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds. Montenegrin point guard Goran Bulatovic (186-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Handlova's coach Danilo Rakocevic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International center Michal Fusek (223-95, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Lautaro Lopez (190-99) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Inter Bratislava. Four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Handlova maintains seventh place with 10-20 record. Inter Bratislava lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost. Handlova will play against higher ranked Iskra Svit (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Inter Bratislava will play against Lucenec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
