Regular Season Round 27: RO Eurobasket - Scafati 79-80

The most exciting game of round 27 in the Serie A2 took place in Roma. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Eurobasket RO (12-9) to third ranked Scafati (16-5) 80-79 on Wednesday evening. Scafati made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Eurobasket RO helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American power forward Charles Thomas (202-86, college: Arkansas) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Maltese-American Darryl Jackson (190-85, college: WPU) contributed with 23 points for the winners. American-Nigerian Jamal Olasewere (201-91, college: LIU Brooklyn) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Roberto Gallinat (191-96, college: Pacific, agency: Players Group) added 25 points in the effort for Eurobasket RO. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Scafati moved-up to second place, which they share with Napoli. Eurobasket RO lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Scafati is looking forward to face Rieti (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eurobasket RO will play against San Severo (#12) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
