Regular Season Round 27: Piacenza - Treviglio 84-91

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Piacenza (12-12) lost to seventh ranked Treviglio (12-11) in Casalpusterlengo 84-91 on Wednesday. Treviglio dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Piacenza's 32. It was a good game for American point guard JJ Frazier (178-95, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Center Jacopo Borra (215-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Markis McDuffie (203-97, college: Wichita St.) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Gherardo Sabatini (183-94) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Piacenza. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Piacenza's coach Stefano Salieri rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Treviglio moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Verona. Loser Piacenza dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Treviglio will face Cd'Orlando (#12) in Capo d'Orlando in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Piacenza will play at home against Casale (#11) and hope to win that game.
