Regular Season Round 16: Gravelines - Strasbourg 78-81

A very interesting game took place in Gravelines. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (6-7) to fifth ranked SIG Strasbourg (9-4) 81-78 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. SIG Strasbourg forced 20 Gravelines-Dunkerque turnovers. The winners were led by American point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-91, college: MSU Denver) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 assists and American-Ugandan swingman Ishmail Wainright (196-94, college: Baylor) supported him with 8 points and 4 assists. Even 20 points and 5 rebounds by American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: MSU) did not help to save the game for Gravelines-Dunkerque. His fellow American import point guard Briante Weber (188-92, college: VCU) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. SIG Strasbourg have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 9-4 record. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. SIG Strasbourg's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Monaco at home and it may be quite challenging game. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against JL Bourg (#3) and hope to win that game.
