Regular Season Round 25: M.Rishon - Maccabi T-A 72-89

Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (16-3) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they beat ninth ranked M.Rishon (7-10) in Rishon Le-Zion 89-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of M.Rishon. Maccabi T-A made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian center Ante Zizic (209-97, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). The former international Omri Casspi (205-88) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Maccabi T-A's coach Giannis Sfairopoulos used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Golan Gutt (195-94) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) added 12 points and 7 assists in the effort for M.Rishon. Five Maccabi T-A and four M.Rishon players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 16-3 record. M.Rishon at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Maccabi T-A are looking forward to face H.Haifa (#5) on the road in the next round. M.Rishon will play against Maccabi Haifa (#12) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
