Regular Season Round 24: Picken Claret - Castello 63-78

There was a minor upset in Valencia where 10th ranked Picken Claret (9-14) was defeated by twelfth ranked Castello (9-14) 78-63 on Saturday. Castello outrebounded Picken Claret 33-22 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Italian-Brazilian Izabella Sangalli (184-95) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. American Peyton Whitted (190-95, college: Penn St.) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Castello's coach Jaume Tormo used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Clara Che (173-97, college: Providence) who recorded 16 points and forward Marta Rabassa (178-94) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Castello moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Almeria and Picken Claret. Picken Claret lost sixth consecutive game. Castello will face higher ranked Paterna (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
