The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Viladecans' (13-11) road loss to fourth ranked Maresme (16-9) 57-67 on Saturday. Viladecans was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Blanca Garcia (183-89) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Mireia Vila (183-91, college: St.Joseph's) chipped in 9 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Elena Silva (173-93) who recorded 17 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and power forward Silvia Marcelo (188-93) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Maresme maintains fourth position with 16-9 record. Newly promoted Viladecans dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. Maresme's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Barcelona to the arena Barca CBS.
