Regular Season Round 29: Estudiantes - Valencia 68-85
Date: March 20, 2021
The game in Madrid was also quite interesting. Second ranked Valencia (26-1) played at the court of 5th ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (16-12). Valencia did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-68 on Saturday. Valencia made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-92) who scored 12 points. The former international guard Leticia Romero (173-95, college: FSU) chipped in 13 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Five Valencia players scored in double figures. Belgian Jana Raman (185-91) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Arica Carter (173-96, college: Louisville) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valencia have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain second place with 26-1 record behind leader Avenida. Newly promoted ASEFA Estudiantes keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Valencia will meet at home IDK Eustotren (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against Socinsa Bembibre and hope to secure a win.
