Very important is a home loss of third ranked Umbertide (13-5) against sixth ranked San Salvatore (12-6) on Saturday night. Host Umbertide was defeated by San Salvatore in a tough game in Umbertide 40-48. San Salvatore forced 25 Umbertide turnovers. Strangely Umbertide outrebounded San Salvatore 39-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for center Adriana Cutrupi (186-96) who led the winners and scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Marta Granzotto (173-92) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Flavia De Cassan (176-98) came up with 8 points and 13 rebounds and center Beatrice Baldi (185-0) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Umbertide in the defeat. Umbertide's coach Michele Staccini rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. San Salvatore moved-up to fifth place in A2. Umbertide at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. San Salvatore will play against Firenze (#9) at home in the next round. Umbertide will play against San Giovanni (#4) in Valdarno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
