There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Biella (9-16) outscored at home 10th ranked Mantova (10-14) 98-77 on Sunday. Biella looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Federico Miaschi (199-0) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Marco Lagana (197-93) who added 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Biella's coach Iacopo Squarcina felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Argentinian Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-81) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American center David Weaver (208-87, college: Wake Forest) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Biella and four Mantova players scored in double figures. Biella maintains thirteenth position in A2 with 9-16 record. Loser Mantova keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Biella will face higher ranked Udine (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
