Very predictable result when fifth ranked Union Rennes (11-6) smashed at home 11th ranked JSA Bordeaux (5-11) 97-56 on Monday. Union Rennes dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to JSA Bordeaux's 24. Union Rennes forced 34 JSA Bordeaux turnovers. Union Rennes looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by JSA Bordeaux's players. Guyanese forward Youri Morose (202-97) stepped up and scored 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Mourad El-Khir (202-88) chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Union Rennes players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Quentin Hanck (192-93) responded with 9 points and 5 rebounds and guard Antoine Leonard (186-98) scored 7 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Union Rennes. Union Rennes moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Challans. JSA Bordeaux lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Union Rennes will face league's leader Toulouse on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. JSA Bordeaux will play against Rueil (#8) and hope to win that game.
