An interesting game for Lyon (11-5) which hosted in Lyon one of their biggest challengers Gazelles (10-8). Third ranked Lyon managed to get a 13-point victory 80-67. Lyon made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Lyon outrebounded Gazelles 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Gazelles was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Marine Johannes (174-95) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (188-96) who added 18 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Belgian point guard Julie Allemand (173-96, agency: LBM Management) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 assists and American forward Myisha Hines-Allen (188-96, college: Louisville) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third position with 11-5 record having eleven points less than leader Bourges. Gazelles at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Lyon will play against Tarbes (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Gazelles will play against Bretagne (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
