Very predictable result in Amorebieta-Echano where third ranked Zornotza (15-7) beat 8th ranked Zentro Basket (9-13) 76-68 on Saturday. Zentro Basket was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Dominican power forward Jeromy Rodriguez (201-96, college: ETSU) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Borja Mendia (199-94) chipped in 13 points. Power forward Guillermo Bastante (201-98) produced 10 points and 7 rebounds and Nacho Rodriguez (200-94) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zornotza maintains third place in Silver with 15-7 record having just three points less than leader FC Barcelona 2. Newly promoted Zentro Basket dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. Zornotza will face Moron (#13) in Morón de la Frontera in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zentro Basket will play at home against Clavijo (#4) and hope to win that game.
