Regular Season Round 21: Montbrison - Mondeville 79-64

There was an upset when higher ranked Mondeville (10-8) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Montbrison (7-12) 79-64 on Saturday. Montbrison looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Alizee Girardet (172-96) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 assists for the winners and Kimberley Adonis (178-99, agency: Areus Sports) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. The best for the losing side was forward Nahan Niare (189-2) with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Louise Bussiere (180-2) scored 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Montbrison moved-up to ninth place. Loser Mondeville keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Montbrison will face league's second-placed Toulouse on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mondeville will play against SIG and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
