Regular Season Round 22: Gandia - Picken Claret 77-64

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gandia as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group E-Descen. Gandia defeated 4th ranked Picken Claret at home 77-64. They outrebounded Picken Claret 41-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Alejandro Requena (189-1) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jose Merencio (195-0) chipped in 12 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Daniel Perez (187-1) responded with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Juan Bermejo (197-98) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gandia (10-6) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Picken Claret lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with eight games lost. Picken Claret will play next round against Ontinent trying to get back on the winning streak. Gandia will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Aldaia on the road.
