Regular Season Round 19: PAOK - Kolossos HH 82-74

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked PAOK (10-9) won against 9th ranked Kolossos HH (6-12) in Thessaloniki 82-74 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-19. But Kolossos HH won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American point guard Malcolm Griffin (193-91, college: Fresno Pacific, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Elston Turner (195-90, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four PAOK players scored in double figures. PAOK's coach Aris Likogiannis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Turkish forward Kerem Kanter (207-95, college: Xavier) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Dominic Artis (192-93, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kolossos HH. PAOK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Peristeri GS. Kolossos HH lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. PAOK is looking forward to face Ionikos (#8) in Aigaleo in the next round. Kolossos HH will play at home against Aris and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
