There was no surprise in La Carolina where 10th ranked Carolinas (1-15) was defeated by eighth ranked L'Alcora (3-13) 70-59 on Sunday. L'Alcora forced 19 Carolinas turnovers. Carolinas was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Mario Linde scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and center Alfonso Ribera (202-1) chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Nacho Gaya (185-90) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Mario Mariscal (-0) scored 11 points. Carolinas' coach Javier Ruiz let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted L'Alcora maintains eighth position in Group E-Descen with 3-13 record. Carolinas lost eighth consecutive game. Carolinas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. L'Alcora will face higher ranked Tabernes (#3) in Tabernes Blanques in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
