There was no surprise when 10th ranked Raanana (3-16) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (8-11) 95-84. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Chelsea Nelson (188-96, college: NC State) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Gili Eisner (176-1) accounted for 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Five Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion players scored in double figures. American swingman Kaela Davis (188-95, college: S.Carolina) came up with 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and the other American import forward Joyner Holmes (190-98, college: Texas) added 16 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Raanana in the defeat. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place. Raanana lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion's next round opponent will be Petah Tikva (#9) at home. Raanana will play against Ramat Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
