The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Chania as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Chania smashed 7th ranked Eleutheria M. at home 78-43. Chania dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Eleutheria M.'s 20. They outrebounded Eleutheria M. 37-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. American Jessica Jackson (192-95, college: Arkansas) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Erika Bean (173-97, college: Utah) chipped in 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Chania's coach Giorgos Roumbelakis felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Canadian swingman Madison Torresin (183-96, college: W.Chester) with 8 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Niki Avery (167-86, college: EKU) scored 9 points. Chania have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Eleutheria M. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Eleutheria M. will play next round against Zografou trying to get back on the winning streak. Chania will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
