Regular Season Round 18: Gravelines - Levallois 72-61

An interesting game took place in Gravelines where higher ranked Levallois (10-7) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (8-8) 72-61 on Saturday. Gravelines-Dunkerque made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Briante Weber (188-92, college: VCU) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. The other American import power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: MSU) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) who recorded 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Bastien Pinault (195-93) added 12 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gravelines-Dunkerque moved-up to seventh place. Levallois lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will meet at home higher ranked JL Bourg (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Levallois will play against Chalon/Saor and hope to secure a win.
