There was an upset when higher ranked Mantova (9-12) was edged at home by twelfth ranked Albino (7-15) 53-52 on Saturday. Albino held Mantova to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.3 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a very good performance for power forward Alice Carrara (186-97) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Greta Laube (173-1) contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Albino's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Giulia Monica (170-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian power forward Florencia Llorente (182-92) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Mantova. Albino moved-up to eleventh place in A2. Loser Mantova keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Albino will face league's leader Udine at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
