Benfica knocked down Vagos to secure 1-0 lead. Benfica dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Vagos' 28. They outrebounded Vagos 57-26 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Japonica James (180-98, college: Troy) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Altia Anderson (188-98, college: Marquette) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Joana Canastra (174-94) produced 11 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Chelsie Schweers (170-89, college: CNU) added 13 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
