Regular Season Round 23: Rishon Le-Zion - Ramat Hasharon 70-79

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Ramat Hasharon (9-12) beat on the road 6th ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (9-12) 79-70 on Monday. Ramat Hasharon dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion's 34. Ramat Hasharon had a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jennie Simms (183-94, college: ODU) who led the winners and scored 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 16-of-18 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import forward Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: CMU) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. International forward Eden Zipel (183-2) came up with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and American-Belizean forward Aishah Sutherland (187-90, college: Kansas) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ramat Hasharon. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Rishon Le-Zion. Ramat Hasharon will meet at home Petah Tikva (#9) in the next round. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Raanana and hope to secure a win.
