Regular Season Round 30: Sonik Puntamika - Zadar 68-80

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Zadar: Zadar (#2) and Borik Puntamika (#5). Borik Puntamika was defeated at home 68-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Zadar outrebounded Borik Puntamika 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Chinanu Onuaku (208-96, college: Louisville) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Domagoj Vukovic (206-93) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Jakov Vladovic (187-83) who recorded 12 points and 6 assists and Tomislav Cvitkovic (206-98, agency: XL Basketball Agency) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zadar (24-4) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion (24-4) keeps a position of league leader. Borik Puntamika at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Zadar are looking forward to face Gorica (#4) in Velika Gorica in the next round. Borik Puntamika will play on the road against Dubrava in Zagreb and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
