Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Panathinaikos (#3) and Dafni Agioy (#9). Panathinaikos (6-1) smashed visiting Dafni Agioy (1-5) by 28 points 79-51. Panathinaikos dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Dafni Agioy's 24. They outrebounded Dafni Agioy 36-24 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Dafni Agioy's players. The winners were led by American guard Kolby Morgan (173-96, college: Tulane) who scored that evening 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: WVU) supported her with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Panathinaikos' coach Eleni Kapogianni felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points and 9 rebounds by American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-95, college: CBU) did not help to save the game for Dafni Agioy. Her fellow American import guard Jannon Otto (183-97, college: UC Riverside) added 4 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Panathinaikos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Chania and Olympiacos. Loser Dafni Agioy keeps the ninth place with five games lost. Panathinaikos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena .
