Quarter-Finals Round 2: Vaerlose - Randers 106-115

Randers stormed past Vaerlose for the second straight win in the series. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But Vaerlose won third quarter 29-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Vaerlose outrebounded Randers 43-27 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Randers looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American guard Tyre Gathright (193-96, college: St.Augustine) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Chris Nielsen (193-85) chipped in 16 points and 8 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Gathright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. South Sudanese center Koch Bar (208-96, college: Bradley) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks and guard Adam Heede-Andersen (188-96, college: St.Cloud St.) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Randers and four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
