Very important is a road loss of second ranked Maccabi Ashdod (15-6) against eighth ranked H.Ramat Gan (12-11) on Friday night. Visiting Maccabi Ashdod was defeated by H.Ramat Gan in a tough game in Givataim 95-100. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Ashdod was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Jeremy Combs (199-95, college: Texas Southern) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Mike Holton Jr (186-90, college: St.Michael's) contributed with 30 points for the winners. Jamaican-American swingman Durand Scott (195-90, college: Miami, FL) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. H.Ramat Gan moved-up to sixth place. Maccabi Ashdod at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. H.Ramat Gan will play against E.Netanya (#7) at home in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play against H.Afula (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
