Everything went according to plan when third ranked Bernareggio (13-5) defeated at home 15th ranked Fiorenzuola (5-13) 80-74 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bernareggio outrebounded Fiorenzuola 50-31 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Simone Aromando (200-97, agency: SLN) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Naturalized Belarusian Kiryl Tsetserukou (201-1) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Bernareggio's coach Marco Cardani used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international power forward Giovanni Allodi (206-94, agency: SLN) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Federico Ricci (196-97) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Fiorenzuola. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bernareggio. They maintain third place with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Cividale. Newly promoted Fiorenzuola dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Bernareggio will face Cremona (#7) on the road in the next round. Fiorenzuola will play against Palermo (#16) and hope to win that game.
