Very expected game when 10th ranked Raanana (4-19) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Ramat Hasharon (11-12) 81-72 on Monday. Ramat Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Jennie Simms (183-94, college: ODU) fired 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: CMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. International guard Yarden Garzon (186-3) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Kaela Davis (188-95, college: S.Carolina) added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Raanana players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Ramat Hasharon. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ramat Gan. Loser Raanana stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Ramat Hasharon will meet at home Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#7) in the next round. Raanana will play against Petah Tikva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
