An interesting game took place in Yavne where 11th ranked Hasharon (9-15) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Elitzur Yavne (7-15) 104-74 on Friday. Elitzur Yavne had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Elitzur Yavne made 7 blocks. Hasharon was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Ido Shabat (181-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 4 assists. Jamaican-Canadian guard Daniel Walden-Mullings (189-91, college: NM State) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Elitzur Yavne players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Nigerian Ike Ofoegbu (205-84, college: SMU) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Xavier Moon (188-95, college: Morehead St.) scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Elitzur Yavne moved-up to thirteenth place. Hasharon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Elitzur Yavne will face bottom-ranked M.Kiryat Motzkin (#15) on the road in the next round.
