There was a surprise result when eighteenth ranked Burgos (4-8) beat at home higher ranked Huesca (7-6) 82-75 on Friday. Burgos made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game, while Huesca only scored eight points from the stripe. Huesca was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Trinidad and Tobago-Canadian Kris Joseph (201-88, college: Syracuse) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Ramon Vila (203-97, college: Chattanooga) with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Venezuelan point guard David Cubillan (181-87, college: Marquette, agency: Duran International) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Huesca's coach Oscar Lata rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Burgos maintains eighteenth position with 4-8 record. Loser Huesca dropped to the fifteenth place with six games lost. Burgos will face bottom-ranked Real Canoe (#19) in Madrid in the next round.
