A very close game took place in Le Portel between Le Portel and Chorale de Roanne. Thirteenth ranked Le Portel (8-11) got a very close home victory over 10th ranked Chorale de Roanne (8-11). Le Portel managed to escape with a 2-point win 79-77 in the game for the ninth place. Le Portel outrebounded Chorale de Roanne 27-16. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Mikyle McIntosh (201-94, college: Oregon) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU) chipped in 14 points. Le Portel's coach Eric Girard used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Sylvain Francisco (180-97) who recorded 25 points and 9 assists and American forward Jamel Artis (201-93, college: Pittsburgh) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Le Portel moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Gravelines and Roanne. Le Portel will meet at home bottom-ranked Boulazac Basket (#18) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chorale de Roanne will play against Chalons-Reims (#13) and hope to secure a win.
