Very predictable result in Zadar where fifth ranked Borik Puntamika (16-14) defeated 10th ranked Alkar (9-22) 87-81. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Borik Puntamika players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by Tomislav Cvitkovic (206-98, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who scored that evening 30 points and 9 rebounds and guard Lovre Runjic (193-0) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Even 22 points and 4 assists by American point guard Naba Echols (180, college: NMU) did not help to save the game for Alkar. His fellow American import forward Hasan Varence (198, college: Ohio Dominican, agency: Duran International) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Four Alkar players scored in double figures. Borik Puntamika maintains fifth position with 16-14 record, which they share with Skrljevo. Alkar lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 22 games lost. Borik Puntamika will play against higher ranked Split (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alkar will play against Gorica (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
