Regular Season Round 8: Dafni - Psychiko 81-86

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Psychiko (5-2) beat 14th ranked Dafni (1-7) in Athens 86-81 on Saturday. Psychiko forced 20 Dafni turnovers. Strangely Dafni outrebounded Psychiko 47-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Guard Alexis Kiritsis (198-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Point guard Iakovos Milentigievits (185-97) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Angelos Skordos (188-2) replied with 19 points and 6 assists and Jovan Theodosiou (198-96) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dafni. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Psychiko moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Eleftheroupoli. Loser Dafni keeps the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Psychiko will face higher ranked Olympiacos B (#3) in Pireus in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Dafni's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Marousi.
