Gmunden ensured the opening win in the semifinal series versus Oberwart. The game without a history. Gmunden Swans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gunners Oberwart's 28. They outrebounded Gunners Oberwart 31-20 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gmunden Swans shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Gunners Oberwart's players. The former international forward Toni Blazan (197-92, agency: Mansfield and Associates) stepped up and scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. At the losing side international forward Renato Poljak (202-97) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
