Regular Season Round 25: L'Alcora - Gandia 78-93

Very predictable result when first ranked Gandia (13-6) defeated on the road 8th ranked L'Alcora (3-15) 93-78 on Saturday. They outrebounded L'Alcora 47-31 including 20 on the offensive glass. Center Oskars Hernandez (211-1) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and guard Alejandro Requena (189-1) chipped in 23 points and 4 steals. Gandia's coach Victor Rubio used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side center Alfonso Ribera (202-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Mario Linde scored 25 points and 4 steals. Gandia have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group E-Descen with 13-6 record. Newly promoted L'Alcora keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. Gandia will face Torrent (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. L'Alcora will play against Ontinent and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
