Regular Season Round 32: I.Nes-Ziona - H.Haifa 100-70
Date: April 19, 2021
An interesting game took place in Nes Ziyona where higher ranked H.Haifa (13-9) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (11-12) 100-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of H.Haifa. They outrebounded H.Haifa 40-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ironi Nes-Ziona players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by American Wayne Selden (196-94, college: Kansas) who scored that evening 25 points and 6 rebounds and international Nimrod Levi (208-95) supported him with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Even 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Keenan Evans (191-96, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for H.Haifa. His fellow American import swingman Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 18 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Five Ironi Nes-Ziona and four H.Haifa players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ironi Nes-Ziona have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 11-12 record. Newly promoted H.Haifa keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Ironi Nes-Ziona will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. H.Haifa will play on the road against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
