Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Firenze (9-11) edged at home 13th ranked Oleggio (7-11) 62-59 on Wednesday. Andrea Filippi (197-97) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Davide Poltroneri (195-85) chipped in 16 points. Naturalized Swiss Olivier Giacomelli (198-95) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Guglielmo De Ros (186-98) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Oleggio's coach Franco Passera tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Firenze. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Giulianova. Oleggio lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Firenze will face higher ranked Omegna (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oleggio will play against Chiusi (#3) and hope to win that game.
