No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Salerno (11-9) defeated on the road 15th ranked Catanzaro (4-16) 92-83 on Wednesday. Salerno dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Catanzaro's 34 and made 20-of-20 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Forward Lorenzo Tortu (202-92) fired 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Andrea Valentini (199-98, agency: SLN) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Francesco Morciano (200-96, agency: SLN) produced 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Marco Cucco (189-94) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Salerno and five Catanzaro players scored in double figures. Salerno moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cassino. Catanzaro lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Salerno will face R.Calabria (#13) in Reggio Calabria in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Catanzaro will play on the road against Roma Luiss and hope to win that game.
