Very important is a home loss of second ranked Agrigento (16-4) against sixth ranked Pavia (13-7) on Wednesday night. Host Agrigento was defeated by Pavia in a tough game in Agrigento 61-69. It was a great evening for swingman Alessio Donadoni (196-97, agency: SLN) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 assists. Point guard Andrea Piazza (184-89) helped adding 14 points and 6 assists. At the losing side naturalized Argentinian forward Albano Chiarastella (197-85, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Alessandro Grande (181-94) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pavia. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with San Vendemiano. Loser Agrigento still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Livorno Libertas and Nardo. Pavia will meet at home Bologna Basket (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Agrigento will play against Piadena (#15) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
