Marburg cruised past Herner in the consolation finals opener. Blue Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Herner TC's 24. Blue Dolphins forced 19 Herner TC turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Hanna Crymble (190, college: Vermont) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Theresa Simon (180-98) chipped in 14 points. Four Blue Dolphins players scored in double figures. Blue Dolphins' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Sarah Polleros (185-2) responded with 9 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian swingman Kristina Topuzovic (183-94) scored 8 points and 4 assists.
