Regular Season Round 15: Hrunamenn - Breidablik 69-108

D1 top team - Breidablik (10-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Hrunamenn (3-10) in Fludir 108-69. The game without a history. Breidablik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hrunamenn's 40. Breidablik forced 22 Hrunamenn turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for swingman Snorri Vignisson (193-97) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) contributed with 19 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Breidablik players scored in double figures. Center Yngvi Oskarsson (201-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Eythor Arnason (185-3) added 11 points and 6 assists in the effort for Hrunamenn. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Breidablik have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-3 record. Hrunamenn lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Fjolnir and Selfoss. Breidablik are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Selfoss (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hrunamenn will play against Fjolnir in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
