Regular Season Round 26: Solares - Santurtzi 60-85

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Solares (8-9) was outplayed at home by second ranked Santurtzi (11-5) 85-60 on Saturday. Santurtzi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian point guard Juan Martin Orellano (199-89) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Imanol Artinano (203-95, college: ABU) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. American-British center Kaj-Bjorn Sherman (213-92, college: UTSA) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Sergio Garcia (195-95) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santurtzi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group A-A with 11-5 record having just two points less than leader Andujar. Loser Solares keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Santurtzi will face Ardoi (#7) in Zizur Mayor in the next round where they are favorite. Solares will play on the road against Goierri and hope to win that game.
